The Bad Boy Gossip United enquire about Sterling, Chelsea want Walcott or Oxlade-Chamberlain in Cech deal, Hummels rejects United...

UNITED ENQUIRE ABOUT STERLING Hold on to your hats, because this one is about to get interesting. Both the Daily Telegraph and The Times are reporting that Manchester United have made an enquiry about the availability of Raheem Sterling. It is a pretty ballsy move from United, as Sterling would become the first player to move between the clubs since 1983. It's unlikely to go down well with Liverpool or their supporters. The Daily Telegraph say that Liverpool instantly rejected United's enquiry, telling them in no certain terms that Sterling is not for sale, and that any further interest will not be welcomed. In truth, it doesn't matter what Liverpool say. It's clear that there will be a huge amount of interest in Sterling this summer, from both home and abroad. It remains to be seen whether United take their place in that queue. CHELSEA WANT WALCOTT OR OX To The Sun now, who add an intriguing line into the developing saga over the future of Chelsea's No. 2 goalkeeper Petr Cech. They claim that Arsenal's attempts to bring the goalkeeper to the Emirates will not end in a simple cash deal. Jose Mourinho will demand that either Theo Walcott or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are included as part of the move. The news come courtesy of a Chelsea 'source', who says: "Arsene Wenger wants a top keeper from us. Well, in exchange we want Walcott or Oxlade-Chamberlain. They may not be in the Arsenal team but we are convinced Jose Mourinho could make them into top players again." If that sounds incredibly vague to you, you're not alone. Was the 'source' Walcott himself? HUMMELS REJECTS UNITED Well, well. Manchester United's search for a central defender looks set to go on. The assumption was that the departure of Jurgen Klopp from Borussia Dortmund would leave a clear path for United to sign Mats Hummels, but that now looks not to be the case. "It was legitimate that Mats was thinking about his future, but I always pointed out that we plan with him," Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc told Kicker, as retold by the Manchester Evening News.
